Vej is designed to keep your learning personal. Most data stays on your device, with optional Apple services used only when you choose them.

Vej ("we", "us", or "our") provides an iOS app and related tools to help learners prepare for Singapore's Basic Theory Test (BTT). Support for the Final Theory Test (FTT) is in development and coming soon. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

This policy applies to the Vej iOS app and associated experiences, including any ChatGPT Apps SDK or MCP widget integrations.

01 Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Progress and learning data: Lessons completed, practice exam results, accuracy rates, weak topics, and study streaks generated as you use the app.
  • Assistant conversations: Text you enter into the in-app assistant and responses generated during the current session.
  • Preferences: Your selected country or region for content and optional iCloud sync preference.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage information: Basic device information needed to run the app, such as iOS version and support for on-device AI. We do not collect detailed analytics or telemetry in the current build.
  • App Store transaction information: When subscriptions are enabled, Apple provides subscription status so Vej can unlock features. We do not receive payment details, your name, or your email.

Information from third parties

None. We do not use advertising networks, third-party analytics, or data brokers. Firebase is disabled and is not linked in normal builds.

02 How We Use Your Information

  • Provide personalized lessons, progress tracking, performance review, and weak-topic targeting.
  • Power the in-app assistant using on-device Apple Intelligence when available. Prompts and context stay on your device.
  • Manage free and paid feature access when subscriptions are enabled.
  • Enable optional cross-device progress and preference sync through iCloud Key-Value Storage.
  • Improve the app using local, non-identifiable signals and comply with legal obligations.

03 How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information.

Information is shared only in these limited cases:

  • Apple: For In-App Purchases and optional iCloud Key-Value Storage.
  • On-device Apple Intelligence: Assistant queries and context are processed locally by supported Apple devices.
  • External AI apps: Only when you explicitly choose to hand off a prompt to another service. That service's privacy policy then applies.
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

04 Data Storage and Retention

  • Local storage: Most progress, settings, and recent assistant context are stored only on your device.
  • iCloud Key-Value Storage: If you enable sync, limited progress and preference data is stored in your iCloud account and is subject to Apple's privacy practices.
  • Retention: Local data remains while you use the app. Deleting the app removes local data. iCloud data can be managed through your Apple settings.
  • Assistant context: Conversation context is bounded to the current session and is not permanently stored.

05 On-Device and Third-Party AI

Vej's assistant is designed to work primarily with Apple's on-device intelligence. When this is unavailable, the app falls back to local rule-based responses.

If you explicitly choose to continue a conversation in another AI app, you are leaving Vej and sending the selected information to that third party. Please review that service's privacy policy before continuing.

06 Subscriptions and Payments

  • Apple handles all billing and subscription management through In-App Purchase.
  • Vej receives only the subscription status needed to grant access to eligible features.
  • We do not store or have access to your payment method or billing address.
  • Restoring purchases uses Apple's standard mechanisms.

07 Children's Privacy

Vej is a general-audience app for learners preparing for driving theory tests. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or the applicable age of digital consent in their jurisdiction.

08 Your Choices and Rights

  • Clear progress and history inside the app where available, or by deleting the app.
  • Disable optional iCloud sync and manage iCloud data through Apple settings.
  • Manage or cancel subscriptions through the App Store.
  • Choose whether to send any prompt to an external AI app.

For access, deletion, or correction requests, contact us through the methods below. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

09 Security

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate for a consumer mobile app, including local storage through Apple's secure APIs and reliance on Apple's secure infrastructure. Vej does not itself collect or transmit passwords, financial details, or precise location.

10 International Transfers

The app primarily operates with data stored locally on your device or in your iCloud account. When you choose to hand off information to a third-party service, that service may process it on servers outside Singapore.

11 Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the date above and highlight material changes in the app or on this website.

13 App Store Disclosures

  • Vej does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in its default configuration.
